As part of Johnson & Johnson’s global rebrand, Applied arts partnered with teams across the enterprise to bring the new visual identity to life through a wide range of projects—spanning immersive workplace experiences, signage systems, digital content, and large-scale events. Our work was grounded in deep collaboration across a complex, matrixed organization, and focused on creating scalable systems that enhance the workplace experience and ensure seamless brand consistency worldwide. While we’re unable to share visual assets due to confidentiality, our contributions continue to empower internal teams and partners to confidently implement the brand at every touchpoint.

As part of Johnson & Johnson’s enterprise rebrand, the company partnered with Applied arts to bring its new visual identity to life across a wide range of environments—from immersive workplace experiences and events to signage systems and digital content. Our work supports brand consistency across J&J’s global footprint, spanning multiple business units, facilities, and public-facing platforms. 

We’ve collaborated closely with teams across the company—including Enterprise Brand Operations, Communications, Facilities, and Leadership—to create flexible design systems and environmental brand experiences that support clarity, connection, and purpose. Working within a highly matrixed global organization, our role extended beyond creative execution. We helped bridge departmental priorities, align stakeholders around shared goals, and ensure that every brand expression was thoughtful, consistent, and scalable.

Our work has encompassed environmental branding playbooks, signage and wayfinding systems, digital content strategy, and experiential design, all tailored to support the rollout of J&J’s refreshed global brand. We developed comprehensive guidelines to implement the visual identity across workplaces worldwide, ensuring consistency in everything from storytelling graphics to signage and branding applications. This included site-specific environmental design for new and existing offices, as well as content strategy. Of note is our development of motion graphics for large-scale LED displays at Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicine Headquarters. 

We’ve partnered with J&J MedTech, Innovative Medicine, and agency collaborators to create a modular brand toolkit for events and trade shows. The playbook offers adaptable, scalable solutions to ensure consistency across public-facing engagements, supported by training sessions for internal teams and external partners.

Additionally, we’ve collaborated with the J&J Global Events Management team on a multi-year engagement, to design engaging and inspiring executive-level events including the Johnson Medal Awards Ceremony, the company’s highest honor for scientific achievement. Our work spanned the physical and digital to deliver a unified brand presence. A defining detail was the creation of custom illustrations for each award recipient, which were featured digitally on stage and gifted as physical keepsakes—a personal detail that deepened the impact of the recognition.

Across all projects, we prioritized human-centered design, ensuring each space and touchpoint felt intentional, accessible, and aligned with J&J’s commitment to innovation and care. This work has empowered global teams to implement the brand with clarity and confidence. From internal offices to industry events, the environmental branding systems and playbooks we created ensure consistency, elevate storytelling, and reinforce a sense of connection to Johnson & Johnson’s values.
